Because every day, we're working hard to understand the many ways that new parents adjust to their lives, and this is where we can share with you what we learn. That and other stuff that strikes our fancy!
We love this sighting of Ricky Martin and his two little boys heading home from pre-school with their fox and elephant Zoo Packs! He may not be livin' la vida loca, but he does look like he's doing a great job of playing Dad!
We love our celebrity fans! Busy Philipps, of Cougar Town fame, gushed in a recent US Weekly about her daughter Birdie's Zoo Luggage, which she's been known to pack up and wheel around the house. Though our luggage is perfect for out-of-town excursions, it's just as much fun for a fall staycation. Grab your own Zoo Luggage pal here!
Fat Brain Toys is holding awards for the top products for babies and kids in a variety of categories, and we're so excited that Skip Hop has been nominated in THREE of them! They've recognized our new Zoo Luggage, our Sort & Spin Fishbowl Sorter in the bath category, and our best-selling Treetop Friends Activity Gym. If you love our products, please do take a moment to vote for us. You can check out the full ballot here, or click the above links to vote for a single product. Thank you for your support — and best of luck to all of the wonderful brands!
This last weekend was our sixth year participating in Super Saturday—a huge upscale garage sale held in the Hamptons to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Tons of designers set up booths, from DKNY to Rachel Zoe to Bugaboo, and plenty of celebs came out to support the cause as well (we may have spotted a few Housewives ourselves!). Despite the pouring rain—and several threats of evacuation due to lightning (eek!)—we had a great time mingling with pregnant mamas-to-be and New York parents alike. At the end of the day, we had raised thousands of dollars for the amazing cause, and could not have been more proud of the event. We're already counting down to next year!
If you have been a Skip Hop fan since we first began, you might remember Hannah, who sat pretty while we photographed our Saddlebag (anyone out there still have one?!). She was a cutie pie back then, but is even cuter now—and so grown-up! Here's what Hannah is up to now:
She's 7, going into 2nd grade. She loves sports—lacrosse, soccer, basketball and skiing especially. She also loves to draw and read (Harry Potter is a fave, obviously). She drives her little brother crazy daily acting like his mom but is affectionately doting and a really caring big sister. She wants to grow up to be a doctor who does research on a cure for autism (cute and kind: check!). However, she doesn't want to work in a doctor's office "where kids are throwing up all the time"—and who can blame her! She is in love with the group One Direction and has the entire song "That's What Makes You Beautiful" memorized word for word. Hey, it is a catchy tune. Best of luck, little Hannah!
We've had some really adorable models over the years—some family friends, some professional models and some of our very own fans. These cutie pies bring our products to life, and we couldn't have grown into the company we are now without them.
So now that Skip Hop is nearly 10 years old (eek!), we thought it would be fun to see what some of these kiddos are up to post-modeling stint—and of course, how much they've changed!
First up is George, who splashed around in the bath when we debuted our Duncks. He was only 1 year old at the time! Can you resist those baby blue eyes and those insanely gorgeous curls? We sure couldn't.
Here's what George is up to these days: After a brief but intense affair with the moon, George has settled upon the love of his life–moving vehicles: trains, planes and automobiles. But mostly trains. He's adjusting well to his new home in Austin, enjoying all things Texas: swimming in rivers, playing guitar and riding ponies. But he's excited to come back to NYC this summer and ride the subway again!
We've all done it: While out and about running errands and trekking kids from point A to point B, you've at some time or another asked Dad to hold your bag for you. And chances are, it wasn't just any old bag—it was probably the frilliest, girliest, flower-covered tote you own. Poor guy.
Make it up to him this Father's Day by entering our photo contest. The rules are simple: Just share a pic of your dude sporting your girly diaper bag and he'll be entered to win a bag all his own. It's that easy. Click here for all the details (and good luck!)!
Model, actress and Expectant Mama Molly Sims is a fan of Skip Hop! Molly’s garden baby shower was filled with goodies from one of our favorite retailers, Layla Grayce, including a Jonathan Adler Multi Wave Duo Diaper Bag and Owl Zoo Lunchie. In case you didn’t get the invite *wink*, you still have a chance to win the same gift bag that every guest received, chalk full of everything you see below!

We're over the moon to announce that we've been included in super-chic UK magazine Junior's 2012 Design Awards, named "Best Travel Product" for our new Zoo Luggage! It's an honor to be included alongside such phenomenal brands as Stokke, Bugaboo and many others.
Design innovation has always been a cornerstone of the process of creation at Skip Hop, and we constantly aim to bring products to market that change the way we interact with everyday wares. It's a testament to our mission to have been considered as a nominee for the award, and we are proud to accept such an accolade.
Here's to great design, and more innovation in the future!
Earlier this week, the Skip Hop team was in Boston for the 2nd Annual Drool Baby Expo. Boston mamas are lucky to have Magic Beans in their own backyard to put on the baby extravaganza. Alongside top brands in baby gear, Aden + Anais, Bugaboo and Oeuf, we loved meeting all the new and expectant parents!
