We were on our to a meeting in Midtown today and stumbled upon what looked to be a Hare impostor! After walking past and taking a double-look, we realized that these were not Hares at all, but boxes to put Chinese mooncakes in to celebrate Moon Festival!
Moon Festival, which commemorates an uprising in China against the Mongol rulers of the Yuan Dynasty (1280–1368) in the 14th century, lands on October 3rd this year. Anyway, if you're near Minamoto Kitchoan on W 49th St in NYC stop by and get yourself a mooncake and share it with someone special.
