Because every day, we're working hard to understand the many ways that new parents adjust to their lives, and this is where we can share with you what we learn. That and other stuff that strikes our fancy!
Favorite gift you received as a kid? Food! If there was food around, I was always close by. I loved to pretend my mom was running a restaurant and I was her customer. My mom’s an amazing cook so I always got the best food and best service – on the house!

Favorite gift you received as a kid? #1 The year I wished for snow on my October birthday and we had a blizzard. #2 Whistle I received in kindergarten (and just threw away last weekend while cleaning out my apartment!)
Favorite gift you received as a kid? My favorite gift as a kid was my first Cabbage Patch Doll. When Cabbage Patch Dolls where brand new and were sold out everywhere, my mother was lucky enough to find one last boy with brown curly hair. Unfortunately it had a scratch across one of his brown eyes. My mother was determined to get me a Cabbage Patch Doll for Christmas and purchased it anyway. On Christmas morning when I excitedly opened my gift, I noticed the scratched eye and asked my mom what happened to it. She answered, “He has a hurt eye which means he needs extra love and attention.” I took that doll with me EVERYWHERE I went!
Favorite gift you received as a kid? One of my favorite Christmas memories is the year Santa brought us a trampoline. I remember waking up and being so excited to see it set up in the backyard. My five year old logic was that there was no way my dad could have set it up in the middle of the night so it had to be magic. It had to be Santa! We then spent the morning jumping on the trampoline - you can do that in Arizona. It may not have been a white Christmas but who cares when you have trampoline.
Favorite gift you received a kid? In elementary school, "Jem and the Holograms" was an obsession. The most important part of Saturday night slumber parties was waking up Sunday morning and catching the latest installment of Jem. Then Christmas morning I got my first pink-haired Jem, with with little red light bulb earrings, and it sealed the deal. By the time I stopped collected them, I think I had about 20+ dolls, even a purple Jem Rolls Royce. Now they live in my attic in all their truly outrageous glamour.
Favorite gift you received as a kid? My size bride Barbie! It was so awesome and it was just my height! I’ll never forget running into my living room and seeing that Santa got me my very own “My Size bride Barbie”! I thought it was hilarious that my Dad nicknamed it Barbika. She was so awesome and was just my height! I loved that doll until I went through this “hair dresser” staged and I thought I could give her a really cool.
Favorite gift you received as a kid? My first puppy Kiren-she was a Yorkey! It was the 3rd night of Hanukah. I came home from school (2nd grade) and my parents said my gift was waiting for me-and this little dog came running down the entrance hall! She was a 3lb Yorkey name Kirin. Best gift ever!!!
